Horse race painting where horses are as colorful as the jockeys silks. The energy of a horse race is given new life through this contemporary interpretation. For the painting I chose to use soft pastels over an acrylic wash. The composition relied on photos from half a dozen unrelated horse races. The question remains until the wire will the current leader of the horse race be the winner.
